It feels as if the weight is inescapable and the darkness beneath it, blinding. Slowly, it’s suffocating you.
We can choose to succumb to the lies, or we can acknowledge the truth and grow. Accepting truth, walking in perseverance, and embracing bravery can decrease the power that certain anxieties have over us.
Because without listening, we won’t hear, and without hearing, we won’t grow, and without growth, we won’t change. So, listen.
Hear stories and listen to what makes each person their individual selves instead of placing them into a box. Be good to one another. Be kind and open, and be a human to a human.
On the harder days, I need patience from those around me. Please don’t call me lazy, or tell me that if I just did something it would go away. I’ve tried that. I still do. But sometimes, doing something is just too much.
Without anxiety, I would lack the strength and perseverance I’ve come to lean on so many times in life. I wouldn’t be able to relate to and support the many others who deal with anxiety and mental illness.
